Mark Teixeira for Congress (TX-21)
Mark “Tex” Teixeira (tuh-SHARE-uh) is a proven winner who’s ready to fight and win for Texas in Congress. Born to a Navy veteran father and a schoolteacher mother, Mark learned discipline, hard work, and service from an early age. Mark’s five seasons with the Texas Rangers planted the roots of a lifelong connection to the Lone Star State.
A standout student-athlete, Mark earned a scholarship to Georgia Tech, where he met his wife, Leigh. After his junior season, he was drafted 5th overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2001 MLB Draft. Over the next 14 years, he earned three All-Star selections, five Gold Gloves, three Silver Sluggers, and capped his career with a World Series Championship with the New York Yankees in 2009.
Mark didn’t just win games—he became a leader in giving back. Twice a finalist for the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award, he also received the 2018 Heisman Humanitarian Award and has served on numerous boards, supporting causes from youth sports to college scholarships.
Since moving back to Texas in 2021, Mark has fought for conservative values—supporting leaders like Governor Greg Abbott, Congressman Chip Roy, and President Donald J. Trump, and partnering with the Texas Public Policy Foundation to advance educational freedom and opportunity for Texas families.
